I have owned Kernyas for over 20 years and during that time much has been spent on her to keep her in good trim. She is one of the last Blackwater Sloops, built 1965 by Dan Webb and Feesey, Maldon, Essex, the same yard she is in now. She is a gaff sloop, with Mainsail, Jib, Genoa and a sail for a jack-yard topsail (no jack-yard yet). She has Wickham Martin furling fitted to the jib, slab reefing, with all controls fed back to the cockpit for simple operation. Also available if required is a mast, boom, mainsail and standing rigging from a Bermudan rigged Blackwater Sloop that was scrapped. Sh... read more

Swedish beauty. Magnificently crafted yacht from the renowned yard of Vindo Marin featured in The Worlds Best Sailboats by Ferenc Mate. This model was the most popular of the Vindos and around 400 were produced in the 1970s. The craftsmanship of the internal and external woodwork put these yachts in a category of their own and give them a wonderful ambience above and below. The combination of a fibreglass hull and mahogany/teak top sides give all the character of a wooden boat with minimal maintenance and maximal internal volume. The Vindo 40 is a superb sea boat which inspires confidence in t... read more

Since then we have sailed Philomelle to Norway, Scotland, Normandy, the Channel Isles, Brittany (twice), the Scillies, and twice more to the Baltic.
