I have owned Kernyas for over 20 years and during that time much has been spent on her to keep her in good trim. She is one of the last Blackwater Sloops, built 1965 by Dan Webb and Feesey, Maldon, Essex, the same yard she is in now. She is a gaff sloop, with Mainsail, Jib, Genoa and a sail for a jack-yard topsail (no jack-yard yet). She has Wickham Martin furling fitted to the jib, slab reefing, with all controls fed back to the cockpit for simple operation. Also available if required is a mast, boom, mainsail and standing rigging from a Bermudan rigged Blackwater Sloop that was scrapped. Sh... read more

Much admired, this lovely wooden boat has been owned by successive boat builders. She has been in constant commission since being built in Looe in 1896 by Ferris. Yacht conversion was completed in the 1980s and since then she has been progressively updated and well maintained. A regular participant at working boat regattas along the Cornish coast and in Brittany, she sailed back to Cornwall from a stint in the Med in 2004; she is a great family cruising boat. Fully equipped with 4 berths and a 27hp Volvo Penta engine, the accommodation benefits from full standing head room and is airy... read more
