‘Pardiella’ was built in 1974 by Astilleros Orozco Shipyard, Alicante, Spain and is their version of the renowned and now collectable American Chris Craft Constellation series of offshore sports cruisers. I know of at least 4 other sister vessels for sale over the years.
Principal dimensions are 45’ x 10’ x 3’ draft and weight approx. 12 tonnes excluding fuel and water. Twin Cummins VT555M 270hp V8 turbocharged marine diesels showing approx.. 3000 hrs with Twindisc Gearboxes coupled to 4 blade bronze propellors.
Pardiella is laid out from forward to aft: forward chain locker separated from the accommodation by a full height bulkhead, forward cabin with King sized double island berth with corner lockers, leading past a separate single bedroom/office with lockers to starboard and a hanging wardrobe locker and shower/toilet compartment to port; rising up to an open wheelhouse with helm to starboard and a simple galley with twin plate induction ceramic hob, sink and microwave to port (marine fridge under helmseat). Helm has comprehensive engine instrumentation (all disconnected). Engine/generator room beneath. The aft deck is covered with a hardtop with lazarette/workshop space beneath.
The hull design is sharp nosed stem, lightly flared bows, hard single chine bilge, constructed of 5/8” or ¾” marine grade plywood lain on sawn hardwood frames on approx. 20” centres with 3 spray rails. Full length laminated solid hardwood keel with bronze keelbolts - all kellbolts have been replaced except one under fuel tank. Decks are believed iroko in good condition, some screw bungs and caulking requires replacing (hence keeping under cover until done). Port side deck removed and relaid by boatbuilder a few years ago. External (International Toplac) and internal (International Danboline) paintwork and varnish (Epifanes) mostly good, but will need refreshing due to some surficial paint damage/surface soft wood around cabin trunk exterior but localised generally to where old fittings now being removed. Easily repaired with only reasonable woodworking skills.
Saloon accommodation suitable for L shape settee / extending double bed (I have an Ikea one to put aboard)
Lazarette has new Vetus 2 x 220litre fresh-water tanks, new Jabsco fresh water pump, engine start and domestic batteries, and aluminium chequer plate workshop space
Aft deck covered with flybridge extension ( stainless legs and cold moulded ribs/plywood deckhead)
Lower accommodation windows/portlights have been replaced with fixed portlights as found difficult to keep the original stainless steel bespoke units from leaking, but they will come with the boat in case new owner wishes to refit for authenticity. Forecabin and starboard berth flooring is now varnished mahogany parquet.
Flybridge deck / deckhead framing/ flybridge sidewalls completely renewed.
Replacement iroko rub-rails and spray rails.
4 blade Bronze props replaced in 2008.
'Deadwood' in way of rudder stocks completely replaced 2017
Powered by twin 9.1 litre Cummins VT555M Big-Cam turbocharged V8 marine diesels each 270hp were running a couple of years ago alongside. I have a new exchange turbo and fully professionally serviced fuel pump (Swadlincote Diesels) that haven’t yet been fitted. Lancing Marine designed/supplied a replacement cooling system using off the shelf Bowman parts and bespoke fittings to replace the original Serco heat exchangers for which spare parts are no longer available - one engine has been rebuilt with these parts and was running with no problems, the other engine parts are present but unfitted. New Bowman gearbox oil coolers. TwinDisc MG506 gearboxes. One new starter motor, one serviced. Instruments remain but none connected.
Replacement 5" marine exhaust hose and new exhaust outlets (sounds good).
All electrics removed DC/AC ready to refit to requirements. Furuno deepwater dual frequency echosounder transducer still remains with VHF grounding sinter plate in hull.
Onan MDJE diesel generator approx 5kVa was running OK and probably still does.
Lofrans 24v windlass with warping drum, ~15kg galvanised anchor, calibrated 8mm galvanised chain & ~45m warp
New Vetus freshwater tankage fitted and plumbed (440litres)
New Jabsco freshwater pump and accumulator tank
New Tecma Silence electric toilet/heads and waste tank (fitted & mostly plumbed)
3 x commoned stainless steel diesel tanks totalling ~1800litres
Much internal joinery replaced/refitted with original dash etc. Sink and fridge drawer cupboard unit I am told came from a Princess Motoryacht (high gloss cherrywood?)
Steering ram/pump etc removed as they were badly leaking
Stainless steel extending/rotating davits (Italian)
I have had her for 17 years, has been a long running hobby, but health issues will not allow me to finish her. I have had local boat builders do the major items like flybridge structure, rubbing rails, port deck, keelbolts and replace the rudder stock deadwoods.
Before lifting out of the water late last year the hull was totally dry as always - no seawater leaks.
Sold as seen as is where lying – no warranty given or implied. Ideally would suit an enthusiastic new owner to finish restoration / keepup with the woodwork and painting. Solid Cummins engines although old can still get parts for but would be quite easy to change for something smaller/economical if just going to be used more as a river cruising / house boat / liveaboard, I wouldn’t consider extended sea cruising at pace without good servicing…. Replace with 2 x 100hp or so modern diesels and stay in very economic single digit speeds? Or even go electric.....
Lying ashore Falmouth Marina – pontoon berth available direct negotiation with marina
