Built in Thorne for Leeds Co-op from riveted lowmoor iron. Albion is powered with a Lister FM 68 hp in the centre and flanked either side by two Gleniffer 48hp engines. Two 1136 litres diesel tanks and 1136 litres freshwater tank forward. It was our dream to live on the water because there really is nothing like it. When you’re on Albion, time moves more slowly. You can finally relax, and the worries and stresses of modern life just fade away. Sitting in the wheelhouse watching the sun go down whilst the natural world of the river gently unfolds around you, that’s living the dream.
We were lucky enough to spend 11 years living on this boat. She has an incredible history from being a working boat to her conversion to a comfortable houseboat. The well-appointed galley includes a fridge freezer, gas hob and oven along with a full-size washing machine. The snug salon is easy to heat or cool with an electric air-conditioning unit. A corridor from the salon leads on to the master double bedroom and then through to the full-size bathroom. Beautifully maintained you’ll find automatic lighting throughout the boat; you can use battery and solar power during the summer months or hook up to mains electric (dependent on mooring). Sadly, due to illness we’ve had to take the difficult decision to sell.
Viewing is highly recommended; this is a unique opportunity to make that change, get off grid and live your best life on the river.
