Description

Stella Maris is a beautiful and unique Dutch sailing Klipper that was built in Snakkerburen Frisland in 1912 and used as a coastal and inland cargo transport boat. Purchased in Holland as an unconverted boat in 2007, she was sailed back to the UK by her current owner and has since been professionally and lovingly converted into a beautiful home from the hull up. Some of the striking features include a large open plan living area with 4no. huge fully opening skylights with a Mendip Loxton solid fuel stove and upright piano within the space, a large bamboo featured double bedroom with opening skylights and king sized bed, a tiled bathroom with sunken bath and shower, solid bamboo kitchen / galley with seating area, a large chain locker room and storage space that could be made into another bedroom.
Newly reconditioned Cummins engine and Dong-I transmission.
Stella comes with a permanent transferable mooring in Portishead Marina or Sharpness Marina and has been asked to join the moorings within the Bristol Floating Harbour because of her historical significance.

Construction

Built 1912 in Sneek Friesland and used as a coastal and inland cargo transport boat.

Some of the works carried out since 2007 purchase - New steel roof covering main living area with large skylights, new full length rubbing strakes, full length gunnel and gangway replacement, all new rigging fixing points and chain plates, new plating works to sea worthy standard, new bilge keels professional fitted by Sharpness Shipyard.

Boat has been internally and exteriorly coated with two pack epoxy in 2015.
Entire boat has been spray foam insulted - minimum thickness 50mm.
Boat has been painted within the last month.
