London Boat Show Boat

Much loved boat which selling due to health and fitness. Buying a stink pot!!

We bought boat in 2008 from first owner. Was called De Vere as his name was Wilkins Watkins De Vere. Changed it to Salty Bear, much nicer!!
Lots of ‘goodies’ on boat as follows

* Electric main halyard winch and Genoa sheet winches.
* Fridge run from electric compressor and from engine. Holding plate from engine is superb and designed for warmer climates.
* Recent spray hood and cockpit enclosure. Very strongly built and cost £5000.
* Lewmar Folding Wheel to provide easy access to bathing platform.
* Boom brake to slow down accidental jibes.
* 7.5kg and 4.5kg Calor Gas with own regulators.
* Solar panel and inverter.
* inner Forestay with Highfield lever
* Beneteau crockery and cutlery. Mugs, plates pans as seen.
* All seacocks replaced by Darthaven with professional fittings, not plastic.
* Ambassador Rope Cutter.
* Mooring in Dartmouth until April 2027 available
* Cargo hoist for large outboard.
* Fortess Anchor and chain replaced 4 years ago.
* Bow and Stern lights replaced 2025
* Battery charger replaced 2024

Accommodation

6 Berth layout but can be made into 8 berth. Too crowded. Friends use there cockpit enclosure as the kids playground.

Construction

Built by Beneteau in a factory. They were making and selling 300 a year, most popular 40 footer around with its own users forum.

Regularly serviced by owner.
Anything clever done by Darthaven.

Oil and all filters changed by owner December 25
Cam belt replaced by Darthaven December 25 (precautionary)

Engine is Perkins Prima used in London Taxi cab, Montego and Maestro hence cheap spares. Replaced fuel pump for £30 and upgraded alternator to 100 Amps for £90.

Additional pulley and compressor fitted by Beneteau to drive fridge and holding plate. Useful in hot climates and saves batteries.
