I am selling my Biscay 36 which I have spent my time improving since I bought her in 2014. I sailed over 2000nm on her and I dare say, I will most likely never own a better sea boat.
She was one of the designs entering the 2018 Golden Globe Race and was described by Antoine Cousot as the best compromise being light, fast and sturdy.
He also praised her for the well designed and safe cockpit.
I can confirm that she effortlessly slips through the water at 5kn in 10kn of wind.
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston said about the race „What is required is a comfortable boat that rides well with easy directional stability“.
That pretty much sums her up. She is a sloop which helps her point a little better into the wind.
This boat often gets compared with Rustler36, and I think she actually has a sweeter stern. But then I would say that.
She was built for the high sea, as the name suggests, and to a very high standard, complying with Lloyds100 A1.
Her birth place was Falmouth Boat Construction Ltd.
In 2017 she underwent a complete osmosis treatment and had all her sea cocks changed. The only must do before you go cruising is to get a new main sail.
She is on the hard near Falmouth in Cornwall where she can be viewed.

The lay out is very functional and gives a generous saloon and a good size heads, en suite with the forward main cabin. The galley is a good size with a double sink, and a flexible work top on the steps makes for decent work space. There is ample storage everywhere and under everything, great for cruising.
There is a rather big quarter berth behind the chart table, used as storage at the moment. The cockpit is rather big and very comfortable providing two "lounging" seats with a nicely angled back rest.
The headroom is pretty good with apx.1.95m.
She is an Alan Hill design and was built by Falmouth Boat Construction in 1978 to Lloyds100 A1. The keel is fully moulded in, so no risk of leaking bolts or loosing the keel.
She is one of the few that were built as a sloop and I personally much prefer the space in the cockpit on a boat that size over a mizzen mast. Plus there is a gantry for the solar panel and a wind generator and some more antennas if you require them.
In 2010 she got a refit and I just refurbished the heads.
After three years in the water she showed slight signs of osmosis, so she just got a full osmosis treatment and new sea cocks, so she is in top form now.

In 2016 I refurbished the mast by removing the pitted paint and treating it with Everbrite.
I also repaired the mast step on deck and removed the mast steps as they tended to catch the Gib when tacking.
The genoa is servicable, the main sail however needs replacing.
