Welcome aboard Yimdee (meaning ‘Good Smile’ in Thai). She is a 47ft Cruiser Stern built by Bourne Boatbuilders. She was constructed in 2018 but first registered in 2021 during Covid. She has recently been blacked and it ready to go.
Yimdee is a 4 berth with a reverse layout, and is suitable as a live aboard or for leisure. She is lined with oak and leatherette throughout giving a warm and luxurious feel. She has large windows allowing an abundance of light. Perhaps the most striking feature of her design is the use of space, giving the feel of a much larger boat. Yimdee has central heating throughout, and additionally a stainless steel diesel stove in the saloon.
The cruiser deck has two wooden perch seats, ideal for cruising. It also has two fixed lockers which serve as further seating and as steps to get onto the roof.
From the stern you step into the galley. The steps are slightly wider than on many boats, giving easy access and storage under. There are cupboards either side, being an electric cupboard and airing cupboard. These cupboards contain the Victron inverter, and the Webasto heating system.
The galley is attractive and of good size. It has a sink, 22v fridge with freezer box, Gas hob with separate grill and oven, and good storage space. Yimdee also has a washing machine (a huge bonus for a live-aboard or extended cruising). The drawers and cupboards are oak fronted, and the worktops are of composite stone.
The galley leads onto a spacious saloon which has a stainless steel diesel stove. There is a fixed ‘L’ shaped, leather covered settee, which converts into a double berth. There is storage space under the settee. There are book shelves above the settee and built in cupboards opposite, with space for a television.
There is also has a folding table which stores in a cupboard next to the galley. When set up, this enables you to convert the fixed seating into a dinette, but gives lots of extra space when it is stored. It also has the advantage that you can take it outside and enjoy dinner on the towpath on a warm evening.
From the saloon there is a walk-through bathroom with an 800x800 quadrant shower, cassette toilet, semi recessed ceramic sink with storage under, and a large wall mounted mirror. There is a small heated towel rail. The bathroom units are in oak with a composite stone top to match those in the galley.
The bathroom then leads onto the bedroom which has a fixed 4ft bed, cupboards above with reading lights, and a large full-length wardrobe at the bow. The bed is raised to give extra drawer and storage space underneath that will fit suitcases if required. There are nice glazed solid oak doors leading onto the well deck.
