Zanzara is an excellent family cruiser. Her wide beam and high freeboard makes her a very roomy and comfortable boat both in the cabin and in the spacious, deep cockpit. This fin keel model has even better sea keeping than her bilge keel sisters and like the Cobra family is a safe and stable boat to sail. Cobras were the foundation of the flotilla holidays in the 1980s and 90s. She comes with a recent survey and is ready to sail as most recommendations have been met. She now only needs cosmetic improvements to make her into a modern cruising yacht. The hull is original and polishes up beautifully. The deck has been painted in the past and could do with a refresh. She has undergone extensive engine improvements with a refurbished Bukh dv24me about to be refitted and it is these costs that have meant (reluctantly) that I have to put her up for sale. She will make someone a good boat that is fun to sale.

The accommodation is spacious with 5 berths over two cabins. The fore cabin has a Vee-double berth, and the newly refurbished heads compartment is separated from the saloon by a teak louvre door. A hanging locker is opposite the heads. The galley has a new Aquachef 2 burner and grill cooker. All gas lines have been replaced and the safety certificate is in date. The chart table is to starboard. There is a refrigerator, pressurised water and a Wallas Martin heater (not tested). The carpet has been removed to revival staining on the original fibreglass floor.
She is a standard production GRP sailing yacht. Topsides are original gel coat with a dry laminate (survey report). The hull bottom has had an epoxy osmosis protection in the past but is showing some small blistering in a few areas, typical of a boat this age. No areas of delamination were detected.
New batteries; Navigation lights; New VHF/DSC radio and antenna; NASA target 2 depth sounder; autopilot 2000 (not tested). Compass.
Lights and compass and a collection of classic navigation systems from the 1990s.
The original Bukh engine which came with the boat proved to be a right of so a replacement engine was purchased with a warranty. Sadly, this refurbished engine failed and has been sent back to the supplier who will either repair it or replace it. The boat will be sold with a fully working Bukh DV24 ME
The spares were checked by a rigger in June and no problems were found. He replaced some of the running rigging which was rotten.
The mainsail and genoa are old but serviceable. The is a storm jib and a nearly new cruising scouted with snuffer.
Horseshoe life ring and dan buoy.
