Welcome aboard Roman Lady, a meticulously renovated and sturdy 60’ Colecraft Narrowboat. Stylish and Functional Interior: The ‘Lady’ has had a complete makeover. Externally the boat was taken to bare metal and then painted with a ten coat system. The aim for the interior was to faithfully mimic an interior in keeping with the golden age of the canals.Where possible recycled materials have been used to give a warm and homely feel that mass produced materials can’t replicate. The recycled palette wood has been sanded, treated and then white-washed to give a natural look whilst boosting the internal insulation. The flooring is quality hard-wearing Kartndean, through-out.
The rear deck is a solid metal deck (hence requires no treatment or replacement). The triple locked double doors lead down to an extra large kitchen. The first thing you notice when in the boat from the stern is the uninterrupted view down the full length of the boat. The kitchen counters are handmade from locally sourced Hertfordshire barn wood. There is lots of kitchen storage and space.
Solar panels have been added to ensure an easy life when leaving the boat for any period of time. The new inverter and other electrical equipment can be found on the kitchen bulkhead.
Most of the electrics are 12V, including LED lighting. There are 8 USB ports situated from bow to stern to power phone chargers and most other appliances.
In the centre of the boat is a bespoke hand built seating arrangement, which offers four people to dine by port holes. These 18 inch portholes are a unique feature added during the recent refurbishment. These handmade wooden tables fold down such that the seating can be made into either two single beds or a double bed.
Next is the cosy lounge area with a long three seater leather sofa beside an extra large multi-fuel fire.
The bathroom has a shower and sink all clad in hygienic wipe clean surface. This area has four floor to ceiling high storage areas. The toilet is a sturdy marine pump out, with space to add a port-aloo should you so wish.Through the bedroom door there are more storage cupboards including a wardrobe and 6 draw chest. Additionally a false draw area for bedding.
Around the fixed king-sized bed is additional storage. Night lights and a USB are conveniently sited at the bed head. The front deck is large enough for two patio chairs and a table. At the bow are the gas tanks, water tank and exceptionally large anchor for anyone with big trips planned.
Comfortable Accommodation: Roman Lady comfortably accommodates four individuals, ensuring everyone enjoys a good night's rest. The large living space features a double sofa-bed, perfect for guests or children while the bedroom provides additional underbed storage for your belongings.
Warmth and Coziness: Embrace the inviting ambiance on chilly evenings, courtesy of the extra large multi-stove.The LED light throughout adds to the boat's energy efficiency.
Safety and Convenience: Roman Lady comes prepared with essential safety features, including fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide alarms, and fire alarms. A boat safety is in place until 2025.
