"Baloo" is a Colvic Watson 34 motor cruiser in lovely condition, well maintained with a quality fit out. I've owned and lived aboard her since 2017. She has large internal volume for length, comfortable accommodation and plenty of storage. She's an attractive, characterful boat and very usable having a bow thruster, economical low hours engine, wide all round side decks and heavy displacement hull. Currently lying Brighton Marina, fully in commission with berthing paid until end of April.
The hull was moulded in 1977 (hull number 3443) although she wasn’t fitted out until 2007-2011 when she was launched for the first time. Before launching the hull below the waterline had 4 coats of epoxy and was then coppercoated (long lasting copper-based antifoul). She went down to the Mediterranean through the French canals in 2012, returning to the UK in 2014. She was out of the water 2014-2016 then relaunched on the Norfolk Broads where she was when I bought her. She has an Isuzu 65hp engine on a shaft, fuel consumption is about a gallon (4.5L)/hour at 6 knots depending on conditions. She carries 430 litres of fuel in 2 x switchable Vetus 215L plastic tanks giving a range of approximately 500nm. Water capacity is 340 litres in 2 x linked Vetus 170L plastic tanks. The pre-launch survey from 2011 was very positive, pdf copy available. The three battery banks (engine start, thruster/windlass and domestic) are charged by engine alternator or Victron 3-way charger when on shorepower. Hot water is via calorifier or 240v immersion when on shorepower.
Baloo is well insulated with cellotex above the removable ceiling panels in all areas & foil insulation to hull sides. She has a Mikuni MY30 warm air diesel heater (with silencer) with outlets in all cabins. It’s little used & works as it should - being marina based in the colder months I use an oil filled radiator in the saloon and a dessicant dehumidifier in the wheelhouse which keep the boat warm and dry. Ventilation and light from large Vetus opening hatches in fore and aft cabins, two smaller ones in the saloon along with ten Vetus opening portlights and four additional roof vents. Everything opens/closes/works as it should, no water leaks. All saloon seating and mattress covers are removable and washable.
Her new owner will get a full, comprehensive handover and I'd be happy to accompany them on relocation if required.

Saloon - large u-shaped seating area with storage under and behind. Dining table on adjustable Lagun table leg. Galley with gas oven and hob, large coolbox, double sink with mixer tap. Microwave, kettle, toaster, 12v cello TV. Plenty of galley storage. Ceiling and reading lights, mains and switched 12v/USB sockets.
Forecabin - double berth which takes a standard small double sized mattress with slats (better to mitigate dampness) and storage under along with access to bow thruster and battery bank (2 x 90AH) for bow thruster & windlass. Additional 2 x large storage lockers and seat with storage under. Ceiling and reading lights, mains and 12v switched USB sockets. Oceanair blind to roof hatch.
Aft cabin - two generous single berths with bespoke mattresses by Shipshape Mattresses (quality and very little used), slats and storage under along with access to engine start (2 x 90AH) and domestic (3 x 90AH) battery banks. Additional 2 x storage lockers and access panel for Mikuni heater, emergency tiller, rudder stock greaser and hydraulic steering ram. Ceiling and reading lights, mains and 12v switched USB sockets.
Wheelhouse - seating with storage under, seat with footrest for steering, mains fridge. All windows are Seaglaze tempered glass, blinds to side and rear windows. Two large floor hatches give very good engine access (access to the front of the engine is via a hatch under the saloon steps). Access to fuel and water tanks under steps either side. Reading and wall lights, mains and switched 12v/USB sockets.
Head/bathroom - porcelain sink with large mirror over. Mixer tap/shower head (drains through floor and pumped overboard). Storage under sink and small medicine cabinet. Wall lights and 240v shaver socket. Thetford cassette loo (good for inland waterways/marinas and with nothing to service/go wrong). There is a large outlet seacock left over from the electric fresh water flushing into a holding tank setup that I removed so this could be reinstated or if you wanted a sea toilet an additional inlet seacock would be required.
Heavily laid-up fibreglass hull, long encapsulated keel with lead ballast, i.e. no keel bolts or keel/hull joint. 12 ton displacement.
