Well-maintained and much loved Cornish Crabber Cutter 24 Mk3 - a characterful, sturdy, coastal cruiser. Louisa is perfect for day sailing and occasional overnights when venturing further afield. She has already had a life full of adventure - built to order in late 1994, Louisa was exhibited at the Earls Court London Boat show in January 1995. Over the years, she's been kept in Scotland, Cornwall, Poole and now in Chichester.
Renowned for blending traditional (classic) character boat aesthetics with modern GRP construction, the Cornish Crabber is famous for their robust seaworthy design and highly regarded for coastal cruising and ease of handling. Having a Bermuda rig makes her easy to sail single handed, and she would be suitable for both new and experienced sailors alike.
We've invested a lot of time and money in improvements since buying Louisa in October 2023. We bought her planning to keep her, so everything we've done has been about making her better. A survey was completed when we bought her, and she passed with flying colours!
With a growing family, it's become a necessity to purchase something a little bigger and we hope that her next owner will enjoy sailing her just as much as we have. Recently serviced engine and freshly anti-fouled, Louisa is ready for her new owners to enjoy this season!
Currently on her berth in Chichester Marina. Feel free to get in touch to arrange a viewing.

The accommodation on Louisa is comfortable for day sailing and the occasional over night. Access is via the companionway with lockable wooden washboards and sliding hatch. Her interior is bursting with original character and feels light/airy. All cushions were re-upholstered in 2023. Advertised as a 5 berth, but in practice, comfortably sleeps 2 - 3 at a squeeze!
Saloon:
The saloon is bright and welcoming, with characterful wooden panelling and a new carpet runner. The comfortable settee can be converted into a double bed, and the table can be lowered down when required.
V-Berth:
2x extra wooden boards and seat cushions make an additional sleeping area at the bow.
Chart Table/Quarter Berth:
Practical chart table which doubles up as a sink (not connected to water) & storage compartment. The quarter berth sits behind this.
Heads:
Jabsco toilet with lockable pump handle. Hooks for lifejackets / handy additional storage.
Galley:
Gas hob and grill on gimbal. Useful built in storage for crockery/cutlery and an additional storage compartment which can be used as a cool box.
GRP construction with a solid hull and quality finish throughout.
Stainless steel guard wires with a lifeline gate (starboard side) makes getting on/off Louisa much easier. Standing rigging was replaced in 2023, along with new running rigging as required - mainsheet, blocks, reefing lines. We installed 30 meters of galvanised anchor chain and a custom-made stainless steel bow roller extension (properly engineered), along with a CQR 12kg Anchor. We also had an automatic bilge pump installed for peace of mind!
A 55 watt flexible solar panel has been fitted to the coach roof, ensuring everything is kept topped up (including the 2x batteries).
On deck, you'll find a sprayhood which can be lifted up/down with ease depending on the conditions. A removable swim ladder and all fenders will be included with the sale.
This is where Louisa stands out from the rest! In 2023, we had fitted:
- a B&G Zeus chart plotter with Triton2 depth, speed and wind instruments. We had this installed in the cockpit, so that it's easily visible when sailing (especially handy for single handed!)
- a Fusion Marine stereo system with Bluetooth, speakers in the cabin and cockpit, plus remote control
We tend to use a handheld VHF, but Louisa also has the original hardwired VHF in the cabin, which works perfectly fine!
Rebuilt in 2021, Louisa is powered by an 18HP Yanmar diesel engine and has been absolutely bulletproof. The engine has been well maintained and serviced annually, offering reliable and economical performance for cruising - she motors beautifully!
It's worth noting that unfortunately, the fuel gauge no longer functions. This hasn't been a problem for us as we keep a log of engine hours and top up when necessary.
We believe the sails to be the originals in a used but fair condition. The standing rigging was replaced in 2023, along with new running rigging as required - mainsheet, blocks, reefing lines. Louisa also has a retractable bowsprit which comes with the added benefit of reduced annual berthing fees.
2x brand new fire extinguishers - 2kg ABC Powder (purchased in May 2026).
