I am selling Bessie, a much loved narrowboat which I've owned for 16 years. She is currently located in Abingdon, near Oxford (UK) on the River Thames. She has enjoyed many family holidays up and down the Thames as well as through the canals.
ACCOMODATION -
Last blackened mid 2024. BSS certificate until 10-07-2028.
Exterior finish: Dark green and cream with liveries.
Condition: Paintwork is solid but inconsistent coloration where maintained.
Interior finishes: Carpet upholstering extends to gunwhales with wood panels above. Mahogany trim with cream panelled ceiling. Upholstered seating and curtained windows compliment colour scheme. Berths have blackout sliding shutters covering porthole windows.
Flooring: Carpeted throughout except around water points
Insulation: Insulated when built
LAYOUT -
Rear Stairwell: with stowage for tiller arm, navigation lights, keys, umbrellas etc.
Gas sniffer test point. Hanging cupboard with RCD consumer unit, Victron inverter and circuit breaker panel. Two USB-B charging points from solar panel. Additional storage under steps.
Rear cabin: fixed double bed with draws and storage underneath. Single removable bunk bed above. Plug sockets and radiator.
*Cabin can be converted to an additional lounge.
Store room: Microwave, washing machine and plenty of storage space/shelves.
Main cabin: Fixed double bed. Approx. 4ft wide, increases a further foot and still passable through cabin. Two wall-mounted reading lights, shelving, wardrobe and storage cupboard, storage under bed and large side draw, plug sockets and radiator.
Bathroom: Pump out toilet. Handbasin over vanity unit, mirrored medicine cabinet. Full height shower with curtain over compact bath.
Kitchen/Galley: Full size Vanette gas oven and grill. 4-burner gas hob. 12v fridge with icebox. Stainless steel sink & drainer. Generous range of storage base units, display wall cabinet. Good worktop space with plug sockets. Ceiling hatch/skylight. Double doored side hatch.
Saloon/dinette: Bubble Marine oil stove in tiled surround. Double sofa/sofabed. Double cushioned bench seat with storage. Two cushioned (moveable) box seats. Removable dinette table (seats four). Corner unit with plug sockets and radiator.
Well Deck: Seating area easily comfortable for 4 with fitted cushions and pillar mounted removable table. Cratch cover. Under seat storage lockers.
Entertainment: TV, satellite box (both with remotes). VHF/CD radio.
Aerial for TV and radio. Removable magnetic satellite dish.
