Gilbert Marine was founded in France in 1972, Gib’sea at the time being one of the lines they built. As Gib’sea yachts became more and more popular they became a brand in their own right and were later taken over by Dufour Yachts in 1998.
The Gib’sea 77 was a well-thought-out design, built between 1980-84 recognized as a lively, easy-to-handle coastal cruiser—ideal for family day sails or short coastal trips with the premise of a boat that would sail well but have the volume below to accommodate family. It has lightweight fittings, well-suited for coastal cruising.
Having been in the same ownership for the last 3 years, there has been a regular schedule of maintenance and care, and she presents well, clean and clear on deck and fresh and bright below for her age, though due to being abroad, was not sailed last season. She's on hard at Bucklers Hard Marina, Beaulieu, waiting to be cleaned and antifouled so very easy to view. She is a well-equipped for solo sailing or family cruising, with a simple to operate auto-pilot drive unit.
A complete boat survey dated 2021 was carried out when purchased from previous owner. The survey can be viewed and states engine in good overall condition with no oil leaks and well maintained since.
5 berth, galley, 2 burner stove, chart table and separate heads on port side with sea water toilet. Good inventory of warps, anchors, sheets, fenders etc. VHF radio installed, and a handheld also available. Lifting keel allowing the boat to be taken into shallow waters with a raised keel draft of only 0.8 m.
Also included in the price: a) 2.4m tender b) Mariner 3.5hp outboard engine and c) a hand-held 2-way radio. All 3 years old.
No photos available of interior, but all in good condition. There is a limited number of photos for which I apologies as they are the only ones I have available presently. Viewings welcome. For more info contact Andy.
Reluctant sale due to moving abroad. Buyer to collect.
