Description

Malham is a 35ft Trad style tug built c1949 by Hancock & Lane.
She is a wonderful example of a real traditional live-aboard narrowboat, complete with classic wood interiors and ‘Roses and castles’ decoration to the rear cabin, with a brand new, more modern look to the galley in the bow. She has some real history to her and is believed to have originally been a tug or butty before being converted by Hancock & Lane in the 1970’s or 80’s.
Stepping aboard from the stern, you descend a few steps into the rear cabin. This space features a recently refurbished, sought-after Epping solid fuel stove, some shelving for storage, and seating which converts into a double bed. The middle cabin houses a cassette toilet and wet room / shower area, separated by a curtain for privacy. The engine is a Kubota / Nanni raw water cooled with a PRM 150 gearbox and is also in this cabin, featuring a wooden cover to minimise noise. There is also a Refleks diesel heater in this cabin which will heat the whole boat.
At the front of the boat is a second cabin that combines a newly fitted wood effect floor and Howdens kitchen and seating area / single bed. The kitchen is fitted with a good-sized stainless-steel sink, Shoreline fridge / freezer, Thetford 2 burner hob and Thetford gas oven / grill. Double doors open on to a typical ‘Josher’ type bow and tug deck.
She has 1 starter and 2 leisure batteries and 2 x 200w solar panels with a 14amp Durite split charger. Hot water is provided through a Paloma heater.
All seating / bedding covers are brand new in 2026.
Full external paint job in January 2026.
Malham was surveyed & blacked in October 2025 and has a valid BSS to October 2027.
