My yacht has to go and I am more than sorry and will miss scorpion a lot had some good races, and times with her. She has a good handicap and makes a good club racer.
The time is going very quickly and If you would like to take her over the start of the racing season is not far away. All yachts need work doing on them to get them ready. I have a good transport company who can deliver Scorpion to anywhere in the UK "or Europe" so if you are interested please make me an offer.
The bottom has been cleaned and she will have a coat of hard antifouling just before she go's.

Berths for 5 which we use for offshore overnight races, but club racing we can take 8 but find 7 is a good number. We have raced Scorpion with 2 crew on board and won in that class.
Picture of 2 berths in the bow and one on the port side, No cushions shown as i have them at home and only put them on the boat when needed.
The cushions are all in good condition approx 100mm thick colour blue
Picture shows room in the bow for 2 and the other a single berth port side
GRP Scorpion was made 1978 so has a good lay up of GPR, the hull underwater she was taken right back to the gell coat and painted with Gel shield and then 2 coats of Hard antifouling
Harken self tailing winches for the genoa, and plain winches are for the halyards and spinnaker controls.
Moveable cars for the genoa leads for number 1 number 2 and number 3 sails.
sails Main new 2023 made from dyneema with a dark gray scrim, also 4 other mainsails all of good quality no dacron sails only racing sails.
Genoa I have 2 which I use all the time a number 1 UK sails tape drive, nice sail but quite old, this sail is good as you can get the boat very close to the wind. also a 2023 sail number 1 which is a little bit shorter on the foot. good for when the wind state is more than 15kts.
And then a number 2 this sail is used up to 18kts and then a number 3 used 20 kts + with a reef in the main if needed but it has to be over 25kts also a storm jib which has never been used.
Scorpion is fully rigged for the use of a spinnaker, with 1 aluminium pole and 3 spare poles some need new ends.
Also 4 spinnakers 1 big white sail with a wide foot which can be used on a reach like a code zero. Made 2022 also 2 others with a standard foot and a smaller one which we use when the wind is 18kts +
standard equipment GPS plotter-VHF- Radio-Depth sounder-Wind speed and direction on the top of the mast.
Chart table with drawers. Full nav lights instrument panel on the coach roof. compass, etc
2 cylinder engine Make Beta 2000 hrs from new, shaft drive to a folding propeller. with a new annod fitted. Drives the boat at 6 kts in a calm sea any more sea state and we use sails max speed 10 kts ?? Scorpion is a racing boat not a cruising boat.
As above but one thing which need replacing is the cooker which is not used and need a new one if you plan to make a cup of tea as we never had time only took a flask if really necessary ????????/
Races only lasted 2 hours so back to the club house for a pint ?????????
Scorpion has a IRC cert for 2024 which is good 0,885 this makes her very competitive and on long races it take the big boats quite a lot to beat us. Club racing is always close as the races are set to be short so we are wit a good start allway in the mix. Good crew up front makes a lot of difference.
The price I am asking may look cheap but it is I do have to move this boat on I have had her for 20 years and now at 83 I am to old so looking for a new home as Scorpion has many years left racings in her.
Buy her and enjoy.
Full set of flares, Vhf radio, Full medical kit, man overboard ring, and through ring 8 lift jackets and safety lanyards.
Fire extinguisher
