Me and My Shadow is a beautiful 57’6 all steel cruirser style Narrowboat built in 2003 by Hixon hulls and fitted out by PT boat fitters. It has been blacked every 2 years since it was constructed with the last blacking being carried out just a month ago 03/25 along with an hull survey that can be viewed on request. The engine has a full service history. She is a lovely boat and comes with a comprehensive cruising inventory and is ready to set sail now.

The boat comes with a spacious pram cover at the rear and a cratch cover at the front for maximum useable space and all weather cruising. She is powered by a Vetus mitisubiishi 4.17 producing 42 hp and coupled to a techno drive gearbox which intern is connected to the prop shaft via a centa flexible coupling and a Vetus water tight shaft seal stops any drips without having to use a greaser. The engine also benefits from having an hospital silencer fitted to the exhaust to reduce any unwanted noise.

Hot water comes via a calorifier which is heated by either the engine or the Webasto diesel central heating boiler.

The water is supplied from a stainless steel water tank . The sewage from the macerator toilet also has a stainless steel effluent tank.

Heating comes by way of a well maintained solid fuel stove or the Webasto central heating system.

Insulation, comes in the form of aircraft jet airliner insulation throughout this was an expensive upgrade at the time of the build.

Electrical systems onboard include 5x 110 amp hour leisure batteries plus a starter battery. The leisure batteries are charged either via the engine and adverc battery management system or the 3 generously sized solar panels when out cruising or the built in 2.5kw sterling inverter charger when on shore power, the inverter powers the mains via the batteries when off grid. There are 2 tvs onboard, a washing machine, a fridge freezer and all led lighting

Cooking is via a large stainless gas hob and a gas oven.

Other bits worth mentioning are bow thruster tube fiitted with wiring in place to fit new bowthruster, recently refurbished bathroom, and spares for just about every occasion it even comes with a spare propeller.

To summarise Me and my Shadow is a very well appointed narrowboat in exceptional condition and is ready to move onboard she has been owned and lived onboard by the same owners from new and has been meticulously cared for and wants for nothing. She is therefore ideal for live aboard use or extended cruising holidays and is extremely capable off grid cruising the canal network . The boat is located in Skipton, North Yorkshire and is available to view by appointment only.
