King’s Ranson is a great example of the King’s Cruiser 29 and has had several upgrades over the years. She offers 4 berths but is also set for single handing.
Designed by Tord Sunden (Associated with the design of the fiberglass Folk Boat) and built by Fiskars AB, Turku, Finland, in 1972, her lines are typically Scandinavian.
Her running/standing rig was replaced in the last 5 years ago as was the head sail reefing system with the chain plates replaced in 2009
The 9HP Volvo MD2001 diesel engine, is well maintained by the current owner, an industry professional
Both domestic batteries have been replaced in the last 2 years
Accommodation
Well-proportioned saloon with standing headroom, double V berth forward separated from salon by heads on the starboard side and locker to port. The heads can be pumped directly out to sea or to a holding tank with shore or sea pump out facilities. All upholstery in good condition. The galley comprises of an Origio 3000 2 burner Spirit hub and stainless-steel sink with 12volt pump, the cool box has been converted to a refrigerator with a Webasto Evaporator and compressor in the starboard cockpit locker. The main saloon and fore cabin are heated by a Webasto warm air system. There is a cockpit table which folds flat when not in use.
Construction
GRP hull and deck, with encapsulated lead keel, plywood washboards, teak toe-rails, and grabrails. Large self-draining cockpit with Teak grating, she has port / starboard cockpit lockers and an aft lazarette. Steered by a wooden tiller (replaced in 2020) with tiller lock. Dodgers and spray hood.
Equipment
All navigation and main cabin lights benefit from low powered LED lights. Beside the solar/wind chargers she has a Nobo 10-Watt mains charger. Shore power via RCD, with 2 sets of sockets one with USB sockets. 12 volt switching panel with LED indicator, circuit breaker, and switch per circuit. Nasa BM1 (battery monitor) on main battery and voltmeter on starting battery.

Plastimo steering compass, Raymarine i40 bi-data speed and depth, Autohelm GPS repeater, Nasa Clipper wind repeater, Standard Horizon GX1700E VHF radio with cockpit remote station microphone, Nasa Meteoman barometer with masthead anemometer, Vesper XB-8000 AIS transponder with WIFI, Raymarine ST1000 autopilot, Sony DAB/FM/MW/LW radio.

Well maintained Volvo MD2001 9HP diesel with shaft drive to 2 blade propeller. Two domestic Battery's replaced in the last two years with 130 Watts of regulated solar/wind charging and starting battery with 10 Watts of regulated solar charging.
Sails & Spars
Mast head sloop with anodised mast and boom. The mast has a full set of steps. Furlex 104S head sail reefing system fitted 2021 and slab reefing to main sail with 3 reefs. Standing and running rigging replaced in the last 5 years. Chain plates replaced 2009. Winches comprise of 2 x Lewmar self-tailing sheet winches, 2 X spinnaker winches, 1 X Lewmar Halyard winches, and 2 X Barlow winches fitted to mast. Main sail, Genoa, spinnaker all in reasonable condition.
