Columbine is the twin keel version of the popular Leisure 27 cruising yacht - perfect for the east coast with her shallow draft and ability to take the ground.

She has been carefully maintained and updated including new standing rigging (2022) and sails (2022-2024) and new Antal XT30 two speed self tailing primary winches (2024) and is ready to sail away next season with no work required. As well as new main and genoa she is also equipped with a cruising chute in a snuffer / sock which is easy to launch and retrieve short handed.

She has a Nanni 2.14 inboard diesel engine which had a major overhaul including reconditioned injectors in 2021. This has been totally reliable and starts first turn of the key. Please see the video which I made to demonstrate a cold start before the engine was winterised. This is coupled to a Volvo Penta saildrive unit with a Bruntons Autoprop self feathering propeller (only used one season).

The Leisure 27 is renowned as a sturdy sea going yacht with unbelievable accommodation for her size with six berths and six foot standing headroom throughout. She has been set up for long distance short handed cruising with lines led back to the cockpit as well as a Pacific Light windvane self steering system and Raymarine auto helm.

Columbine is an ideal boat for family cruising or easy to sail single handed. We have sailed her around the east coast and across the North Sea for the last 12 years, but I’m looking to move to a pure racing yacht now the family are older.

Accommodation

Welcoming and spacious cabin with amazing accommodation for a boat this size. Custom walnut flooring and various custom joinery. Main berth cushions had foam replaced in 2014.

Six berths (double and single in saloon, quarter berth and double in forepeak).

Plastimo Neptune oven and grill. Brass oil lamp, clock and barometer. All interior lights changed to LED bulbs.

Construction

GRP hull with balsa cored decks which gives a warm and dry interior. Epoxy coated below waterline in 2011.
