Jammie Dodger is for sale! She is a 60 x 10ft Liverpool Boats widebeam with two bedrooms. She lies on a permanent residential riverside mooring in Keynsham, between Bristol and Bath. She has always been here, with two previous owners. I have lived on her for three years, and am selling as my partner and I are moving onto a boat together here.
Her engine is a 48bhp Isuzu with few hours for her age, as she has been used for only occasional cruising. This was serviced in December 2023 and is run monthly.
A new Eberspacher heating system was installed in December 2023 too. There are five radiators, and this provides hot water as well as heating. There is also an electric immersion for hot water, as well as being able to use the engine.
JD had a new battery bank in November 2023. She has a Mastervolt Combi inverter with control panel, so it’s easy to check what your batteries are doing! This system is solar ready - I have been quoted £1700 in June this year to have solar installed.
Jammie Dodger has pram and cratch covers, creating useable space both ends of the boat. My children use the stern as a playroom, as well as it being a great place to store muddy boots! I have a table and chairs at the bow end, off my bedroom - it’s a peaceful place to sit.
Her layout, as you enter from the stern:
Bunk room, with fitted wooden bunk beds, crafted especially for the space. There is a single built in cupboard housing the calorifier, inverter and immersion, as well as having hanging space. This doubles as a great airing cupboard, being so warm! There is a storage unit and radiator, with space under the bed. The stove flue runs up the other side of the wall to this room, so it’s toasty in winter.
Next the lounge and kitchen, which are open plan. There is a Morso Squirrel stove, just serviiced, a radiator and duck hatch, looking out onto the river. I had a wooden window frame made, so you can still benefit from the beautiful view, even on colder days. The corner sofa bed is designed specifically for boats and was new in October 2023. I woujd include this and the other freestanding furniture of a wooden tv unit, dining table and two bench seats, in the sale if required.
The kitchen is spacious, with a radiator and skylight. There is a full size double gas oven with hob, and the extractor fan is vented outside. The fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave would all be included in the sale if required. There is plenty of cupboard space, a wall mounted plate rack and the sink is one and a half bowl.
Next a passage way with shelves on one side leads to the bathroom. There is a double shower and sink, radiator, built in storage and a Separett Villa waterless composting toilet with three buckets.
The main bedroom has a radiator, single cupboard with hanging space and a shelf, as well as wall mounted shelves. The double bed is a cabin bed, with drawers and a huge amount of storage underneath. It’s lovely to lie in bed looking out of your own port hole at the river..
Jammie Dodger’s mooring is permanent residential, meaning you can stay here all year, giving you a postal address and voting rights, for example. There is mains electric hook up, and each berth has access to a tap. You don’t pay for water here! The pontoons are floating, rising and falling with the river level. We have elsan facilities, recycling, a post room, car parking for multiple vehicles close to the boat and a monthly delivery of boat supplies, such as coal and gas.
It’s a beautiful place to live (hence why I’m staying!) surrounded by nature. We regularly see rabbits, deer, otters, ducks and swans, as well as our resident paddle boarding heron! There are garden areas within the mooring and we are a friendly community of 25 boats.
Jammie Dodger was last surveyed in August 2021 (you are welcome to view this) with barely diminished hull thicknesses. She was blacked whilst out of the water with new anodes fitted and her BSS is due in August 2025. I have all her original paperwork and instruction booklets.
I’m happy to answer any questions - you’re not wasting my time - and welcome viewings. Open to offers on her price.
