Lyra was built in 1983, one of the last to be produced by LM Glasfiber a/s of Denmark.Despite her shallow draft she is a very spacious and seaworthy vessel with an enclosed wheelhouse and a large cockpit area that can be enclosed by the tailored canopy which was only replaced in 2024. She has 2 cabins and a total of 6 berths, a separate heads compartment with chemical toilet & wash basin. A separate hanging locker is located on the starboard side opposite the heads. There is good standing head room with over 6ft in the galley area adjacent to the helm position. Steering is by wheel or by tiller..
Lyra is sloop rigged and also has a very reliable Bukh 20Hp 2 cylinder inboard diesel engine. A Vetus bowthruster, controlled by a joystick at the helm greatly assists steering, particularly when in reverse. She has been sailed on fresh water only for the last 12 years and stored ashore between October and April each year.
Both sails are in good condition and she comes equipped with a lazy jacks & zipped cover. All upholstery is in very good condition with extra deep cushion pads in the forward berth sleeping area.

6 berths in 2 cabins. Double berth in the forward cabin and a double berth on each side of the main cabin. A folding table is located in the main cabin. The main cabin is heated by ducted air from the Planar UK diesel heater located in the rear engine bay. The heater control is located on the rear starboard bulkhead of the main cabin.
A enclosed heads compartment is located at the rear of the main cabin on the port side and is equipped with a chemical toilet and a sliding wash basin. A hanging locker is located on the starboard side opposite the heads compartment.
The galley is located on the port side opposite the helm position and has over 6 ft headroom. The original galley consists of an integrated stainless steel 2 burner hob and sink. The hob is currently not in use. The sink and the heads basin have pressurised cold water feeds. There are storage spaces behind the hob and in the drawers & cupboards beneath.
A Waeco 12V fridge is located on the starboard side of the galley underneath the helm seat.
The main cockpit area can be closed off from the helm position by means of a zipped canvas screen c/w windows. There is another folding table at the rear of the cockpit which can be configured for 2 or 6 settings.
A heavily built fibre glass construction with wheelhouse & opening hatch over the helm position. An opening hatch in the forward cabin and a raised hatch in the main cabin.
Lyra has a long keel and a skeg hung rudder.
A stainless steel boarding ladder is located at the stern.
The main cockpit tent and support frame were replaced in 2024 and supplied by the original equipment manufacturer in Denmark to the specific boat specifications. The winter tonneau cockpit cover is cleaned and reproofed after removal each spring and kept in dry storage until refitting in the autumn.
Lyra is fitted with a Planar Uk blown air heater installed in the rear engine bay.
A mast lowering system has been installed including a tabernacle to allow the mast to pivot over and be lowered into the storage cutout on the rear radar arch. A spinnaker boom acts ast the main lever arm for the system.
Steering is either by wheel or by the wooden tiller which fits into the housing at the top of the rudder stock. When using the tiller the wheel linkage can be disconnected by a simple swinging bracket arrangement at the head of the rudder stock.
Lyra is being sold c/w a 4 wheel galvanized yard trailer and a Quicksilver 2.7m inflatable tender with airdeck floor and also a Tohatsu MFS 3.5 4 stroke outboard.
A main anchor and a smaller anchor with chain & rope are included along with assorted mooring lines and warps, fenders and fender socks.
An assortment of mains/shore power cables & adaptors and also a 300W inverter.
There are 3 agm batteries. 1 for engine start (replaced 2025) 1 for domestics (replaced 2024) and an Optima spiral deep discharge battery for the bow thruster. The batteries are charged from the alternator via a 3 way split charge controller.
A Mastervolt Chargemaster automatic charger is provided for mains charging when connected to shore power.
A Henderson MKV manual bilge pump and a Plastimo automatic bilge pump are installed.
A domestic cd/radio is installed at the helm position.

A Bukh 20HP 2 cylinder diesel engine was installed in 2009 with a Teleflex Morse Model MT-2 single lever control at the helm position. The engine has been fully winterized at the end of each season prior to being laid up for the winter with oil & filter changed at the same time.
A Vetus 55Kgf bow thruster, controlled by a joystick at the helm was installed in 2010 and provides additional lateral steerage ensuring excellent manoeuvrability in forward and reverse.
The main sails and the jib are both in good condition.
A storm jib and a plastimo drogue are also included.
There are lazy jacks and a zipped sailbag installed on the boom.
