Miss Tilly Flood
This gem of a boat has been home and lived aboard full-time for 4 years. She is filled with character and a space to be enjoyed all year round. Airy in spring, summer and into early autumn, yet warm and enveloping during those colder winter months thanks to great insulation. She really is ‘a little slice of floating heaven’ and her mooring location (CRT) is also on one of the most idyllic stretches of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal – Bank Newton. If rural peace is your thing then this really could be a fantastic opportunity to negotiate an ongoing mooring.
She’s classed as a wide beam due to her curvy nature, sitting at 35’ x 8’10”, an unusual size, however, this has many benefits. You can turn her around almost anywhere, this has been advantageous, especially as a single handed boater and the extra width gives you a sense of space beyond the traditional narrowboat spec. One of the other joys of this home is that she is a true one off build and has stood the test of time thanks to continuous care and quality steel.
During the past few years carefully considered improvements have been made to her both inside and out. Flooring from British Hardwoods has been laid, walls painted in Farrow and Ball ‘Beverley’, new bespoke pram and cratch covers fitted by Amtrim and full exterior paintwork with signwriting. Beyond her being visually appealing, the rest of the spec is as follows:
