Much-Loved 4.2m Cathedral-Hulled Dory with Tohatsu 25hp 2-Stroke Outboard

Eyott Sailing Club is selling its much-loved white safety boat: a 4.2m cathedral-hulled dory, owned by the club from new and approximately 32 years old.

The boat has served us well as a race support boat and has been used to teach several generations of club members the fundamentals of motorboat handling. Sadly, she no longer meets the club’s requirements and a replacement has been purchased. We are therefore looking for a suitable new home for this much-loved craft.

She is fitted with a centre-console steering position, bench seat and generous storage space. The Tohatsu 25hp two-stroke outboard is newer than the hull, at approximately 20 years old. While not new, it starts and runs well, and will happily get the boat onto the plane with two or three people aboard.

A 25-litre fuel tank is included with the boat’s equipment, along with an old but functional road trailer.

From new, the boat was specified with handrails, large, solidly mounted cleats, and a substantial rubbing strip around the gunwale. These features make her particularly well suited to coming alongside dinghies, acting as a harbour launch, or towing small boats either alongside or in line behind.

As you would expect of a boat of this age, she has a few cosmetic marks and scars from regular use. These are reflected in the asking price, but do not affect her usability.She has always been taken out of the water after use and washed down with fresh water and a soft brush. The engine has also been flushed through with fresh water after use on our tidal saltwater river.

She would make an ideal harbour launch, family runabout or day-fishing boat.

Before sale, we will remove the club’s details from the hull. They are still in place at present, as the boat remains in occasional use.
