This well-equipped Dutch barge is finished to their usual high standard with a host of extras including hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, Raymarine navigation and safely equipment, solar panels, self-seeking satellite dish and electric windlass. “Hereward” provides a comfortable living space and being Cat C she is a capable seagoing boat!

Accommodation

Access on board is via port, starboard or rear doors of the spacious wheelhouse containing ample seating with 360-degree views. The seating lifts on the starboard side to provide easy access to the engine room. This area is surprisingly spacious with good ceiling height and all the equipment is easy to access.
From the Wheelhouse, access to the main living space is via cabin door with lift-up hatch, where steps lead down to;-
Open Plan Galley and Saloon - an attractive and practical layout with tiled floor, a range of solid wood fitted base and wall units and ample work surface. The kitchen is well served with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, sink and oven and hob topped by an extractor fan.
Saloon - newly carpeted with plentiful storage on both sides and a useful desk at the bow end, large dog box allows more light into the cabin. The space is heated by under unit radiators and diesel stove.
A starboard side corridor with storage cupboards and shelving, leads to:-
Bathroom - A good sized, recently updated space with curved corner rain shower, a Jabsco pump out macerator toilet and a vanity unit with basin, mixer tap and storage. It is warmed via a heated towel rail.
The corridor continues to:-
Bedroom – Newly carpeted with a King size bed (195cm x 153cm) with storage underneath with cupboards and shelves to both external walls and in a large alcove at the bow. As well as portholes there is a Houdini escape hatch at the bow. There is a good-sized radiator at the foot of the bed and an integrated radio on the port bedside unit.
The interior of Hereward is light and airy with a mixture of natural wood and painted finish. Windows and portholes have curtain rails fitted and there is LED lighting throughout

Construction

Welded Steel Plate Hull, decks and superstructure with a hardwood and glazed folding wheelhouse. The hull above the top rubbing band is painted blue, wide non slip decks and cream topsides. The interior has been professionally fitted using high quality joinery throughout, and light painted tongue and groove headlining. Alloy framed glazed windows and port holes, large dog box mounted in the cabin roof above the saloon. The hull was re-blacked in 2022, and the timber wheelhouse re-varnished in 2024.

IVECO FTP N67 6 cylinder diesel engine coupled to a PRM 500 2:1 hydraulic gearbox. Single lever control, RPM, Oil pressure, temperature and voltage gauges. Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters with helm mounted joystick controls.

12v - 2 x 110Ah engine starting batteries, 1 x 110amp alternator. 1 x generator battery.
24v - 10 x 125Ah AGM batteries, 4 x flat solar panels, Victron solar controllers, DC distribution panel, LED cabin lighting, tunnel light, navigation lights, anchor light, horn, WC macerator pump, domestic water pump, waste pumps (galley, shower and wash basin), cabin and engine room bilge pumps, radio and sound system.
