Presenting 'Water Dragon' a much loved and very well kept cruising replica mini luxe Dutch barge built by the renowned Sagar Marine who were located on the broad Calder & Hebble Navigation at Brighouse for over 30 years. Sagar built the entire boat, from the steel shell to all the interior fittings and painting all with award winning quality standards.
She is in complete original condition as she would have left the yard back in 1998 and fitted with an array of sophisticated systems to make long term cruising/living aboard comfortable and convenient. Water Dragon is powered by a Beta Marine 62hp engine, which combined with her Vetus bow thruster makes her extremely easy to handle.
Water Dragon's beam is wider than a narrow boat but slightly smaller than a widebeam which makes long term cruising on most of the UK wide & French canal networks possible. Down below there are 2 cabins with full size berths and an en-suite in each. The saloon is fitted with a wood burning stove as well as radiators throughout from a Webasto diesel burner for hot water and heating (as well as conventional immersion). Survey report from 2023 is available.
Personal circumstances dictate the reluctant sale of our Sagar marine Mini Luxe Barge 'Water Dragon'. In april 2023 National Marine Surveying carried out the 25 year survey for insurance renewal. The full report is available. During the docking antifouling paint was applied and 2 anodes replaced.
An extract from the survey report states "The hull remains in very good order given regular docking and nominal thicknesses remain as per original build. A well built and well maintained craft of high quality". This can also be found in the image gallery.
Wether you're after a pied-à-terre or looking for a liveaboard vessel Water Dragon is certainly worth a look. Currently lying in Sunbury on Thames, Surrey. To arrange a viewing please get in touch. The owner is keen to sell and sensible offers on the asking price will be considered.

Going further forward on the starboard side you find the L-shaped corner galley with a 4 burner Vanette hob, oven & grill and Sharpe microwave. Underneath the hob is a 24V Dometic fridge with a small freezer compartment. Opposite the galley is a small table with mounted TV above.

Cabin ventilation is provided by louvered vents at low level in the cabins and 6 ECS vents at high level. A skylight Butterfly Iroko wooden hatch in the saloon (covered when not in use) providing excellent air movement on hot days.
The wheelhouse has been constructed from Iroko wood with a mild alloy roof which can be collapsed when needed to get under low bridges, reducing the air draft from 8ft9 to 6ft6.
The wheelhouse features the Vetus bow thruster controls on the instrument panel and Vetus rudder indicator and hydraulic steering controls. There is a Stingray echo sounder and speed indicator along with the usual oil pressure and temperature gauges.
