Seapod is a 4.5m traditionally constructed Maine Peapod, built by Charlie Hussey, Marine Carpentry, in early 2008. Built of carvel construction using 1.5" Alaskan yellow cedar fastened to steamed white American oak frames with silicon bronze screws. The stems and keel are laminated Iroko. The sheerstrake is a clinker plank of European larch, which is fastened with copper rosehead mails. Thwarts, risers and sole boards are all in larch.
The mast fits inside the boat for towing and is quickly rigged with a hanked on forestay and tensioned sidestays. There are two mast stepping points as the boat can be sailed with just the standing lug or with the addition of a jib.
Actual dimensions are: Length 4.5m; beam 1.6m; draft 0.9m; sail area 7.5m.
The trailer is in good condition tows well, and the boat sits on a piggy-backed launching trailer so the road bearing are never immersed.
