Description
Fluke is a lovely unique little yawl designed for two people who wish to go on adventures. She has a long keel with 1.75 tons of lead ballast with an overall total weight of approximately 5.5 tons and draft of 4.5 ft. Fluke was first launched in the summer of 2019 at Largs yacht haven where she is still berthed.
She benefits from an easily maintained GRP Hull, epoxied from new but with the beauty of wooden decks, bulwark and cockpit.
She has 330 square feet of sail area, comprising of Gib, Staysail, Gaff main and Gaff Mizzen by William Leitch, Tarbert.
Modern sail handling is achieved by Furlex drums, Stackpack and lazy jacks on main and mizzen.
Running backstay not necessary due to Rig design.
Brand new Tohatsu Ultra long shaft 6HP outboard with remote tanks and battery charging facility. Fixed to Transom on a sliding tube system.
Anchor is a 10K Rocna with plenty of 8mm chain in the anchor locker. The sheets pass through heavy duty blocks to 4 Evo self-tailing winches.
Steering by wheel with compass. Depth/log B&G unit in the cockpit.
The interior is carefully designed and solidly built, well insulated with good ventilation and a maximum of almost 6ft headroom.
The Head is in the forepeak with a Lavac toilet and wash hand basin behind a solid door.
There are seats to port and starboard with warmth provided by a Charcoal fuelled Hampshire Heater.
Lighting is provided by 2 oil xlamps and 8 LED lights.
For Dining and charting there are 2 dual purpose units with twin Origo alcohol stoves to starboard and dedicated crockery storage and twin sinks to port.
Aft there are two generous quarter berths.
All available space is used to provide multiple lockers.
Space below is comparable to many classic larger yachts
Fluke is a lovely boat to sail or motor and packs a huge amount into her 20ft length on deck and 8ft 6in beam
She is a fine little ship and is well admired wherever she sails.
