I am selling Tillie’s Button, after 5 years of looking after her. She’s been well looked after, I’ve made significant improvements in the boat’s layout - updating the bathroom and entrance hall and refurbishing the bilge. She’s fully functional and ready to move on to.

Tillie’s button is a late 1970s Springer, 47ft long, cruiser stern. The layout is very open, with windows all along both sides which make the space nice and light. The bed is at the bow of the boat and can be converted to a seating area and table. There is plenty of storage space beneath the bed at the front. The woodburner is in the same room, keeping you nice and warm throughout the night. Then there is the kitchen with 2 gas hobs, a gas oven, a 240v fridge/freezer and a seating area.

The bathroom has a shower and compost toilet - low maintenance and the most straightforward toilet solution for a canal boat. Hot water is provided by the calorifier in the bilge.

The cruiser stern is great for breakfast on a sunny morning - there is enough space for a small table and chairs, and there’s also a seat above the gas locker - which can hold 2 gas canisters.

Under the deck is the BetaMarine B38 engine, which has been very reliable over my time. There are then two leisure batteries, with space for a third. This is linked to a Victron energy MultiPlus Compact 240v inverter, providing plenty of power for laptops, power tools etc.
The batteries are charged by a 360W solar panel on the roof, which doubles up as the lid for the rooftop storage.

47ft is about the perfect length for cruising as it makes maneuvering and finding a parking spot straightforward. The gunnels are also nice and wide. The hull is in good condition, being blacked every 2 years. She was last blacked Oct 2020.
