The WESTERLY CENTAUR - probably the most numerous of UK built small cruisers built in the 1970's with in excess of 2400 constructions since its introduction in 1969 thru 1980, this Laurent Giles design has endured and favoured by those taking to cruising a sail boat possibly for the first time. They represent an excellent combination of accommodation with good headroom and sailing ability. Being bilge keel, she can sit on a tidal mooring or dry out when you need to clean the hull. 'ISLA IV' has cruised the English Channel and can be managed with the minimum of crew. She is in need of some cosmetic improvement which the owners have recognised in the asking price.

'C' LAYOUT comprising:
FORECABIN with two 'V' berths each with matrasses and storage under and over. Escape hatch to the deck and access to the anchor locker forward. HEADS compartment (P) with sea toilet and hand basin. Hanging space (S). MAIN SALOON with settee to port and demountable saloon table supported on removable poles. Storage areas behind and below with lockers above. GALLEY (S) with twin burner/grill gas cooker on gimbles, sink and pressurised cold water pump. Ample storage above and below for cooking equipment, pots and pans, etc.. Large quarter berth (S). Access to the engine is behind the companionway steps. Good headroom throughout. The vessel is fitted with a WEBASTO diesel heater.

YANMAR 3YM20 (21mhp) 3 cylinder diesel auxiliary connected to a reduction gearbox and driving through a conventional shaft to a 3 bladed propeller. 60 amp alternator charging. This is not the original engine and was fitted by local engineers as a direct replacement for the original Volvo.
