Maidenhead Berkshire UK|
Lovely Dutch barge for sale with a light and airy feel - she is the perfect size for living on the London waterways, or further afield. She is moored in Maidenhead, and fit-out has been started to a high standard, but due to relocation, I have to sell her.
Her biggest asset is the spacious and light main cabin which resembles a modern studio apartment with a classy touch and must be seen.
Zoef has been taken out of the water in 2019, surveyed, overplated in some areas, painted in- and outside and is now in a very good state. She has a reliable Vetus engine complete with a 100l diesel tank and has been well looked after by the current owner, who has owned her for about two years, and was planning to live on her but is now selling her as circumstances have changed.
There is a large wheelhouse with solid roof and canopy sides and bench seat with storage. You enter the main cabin through stable doors.
To your left side, next to the stairs, is a clothes cupboard, and the entrance to the compact bathroom which will be fitted with a brand-new Thetford cassette toilet with ceramic bowl and water flush. A small electric power shower will be installed to deliver instant hot water. The bathroom is currently being fitted out to a high standard.
The main cabin is fully insulated, the bilge completely descaled and painted twice and then fitted out with thrice varnished thick marine ply on the floor, and painted tongue and groove paneling on the side. Fitted under-gunwhale-cabinets provide additional storage for clothes, books or other items. Note that Zoef's head height is 1.75m and she is likely not suitable for taller people.
A compact kitchen has been fitted with a deep sink, a small induction hob and a brand-new Waeco Dometic CRX50 compressor fridge. Overhead storage is provided with a hanging cabinet that is amply sized for kitchen utensils etc. A mobile breakfast bar is planned to provide further storage space for kitchen stuff, and a space saving extendable table. When not in use it can be pushed in front of the kitchen cabinets, ensuring that the main cabin retains its open spacious feel.
Under the bow the new main 400l water tank is fitted, to use the space as efficiently as possible. 2/3 of the bow space is empty and can be used for storage, e.g. for a pull-out bed (sufficient space has been left to fit a double bed that can be pushed in half during daytime, so that the remaining half serves as a sofa. Alternatively, a single bed can be fully pushed under the bow – and there is still ample storage space remaining).
Shore power feeds the power shower and the hob, whilst the victron inverter charger is charging the starter and 2 new leisure batteries, who are connected to the 12V circuit, including pumps, fridge, toilet and LED lighting throughout the boat.
Outside there is a large front deck which provides a nice spot to sit outside, ideal for summer BBQ's.
Zoef is not equipped as a continuous cruiser at the moment but that could be easily amended with the installation of a gas or diesel heating system (Webasto or others) and the installation of solar power.
Unfortunately, I will relocate to Germany shortly, and it will be easier to leave her here than taking her with me. I am selling her for far less than what I have invested so far, and if you are handy and able do the fit out yourself then she'll be a bargain for you because the foundation is very solid, and a lot of new kit (toilet, fridge, hob etc plus a lot of new cans of International paint) come included..
