Norton Canes was established in 1986 when Graham Edgson took over an established boatbuilding business from Malcolm Braine. For over 30 years Graham and his team applied their engineering and fabrication skills to produce traditional style canal boats with fine lines, sweet curves and exquisite balance.
After moving to Glascote Basin on the Coventry Canal in 2015, Graham's daughter Sarah Edgson took over the day to day running of the business, having worked for many years in the family business, and gained valuable experience of brokerage working with Dominic Miles at Rugby Boat Sales. A true narrowboat enthusiast, Sarah owns the ex-working craft Narrowboat Lamprey and serves as Chair of the Historic Narrowboat Club, which aims to preserve the traditions of our canal network.
