Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this Kim Holman Landfall Class Ketch
Kim Holman Landfall ketch built by Whisstocks Boatyard Ltd, Suffolk, UK in 1958.
She was the first yacht of 6 built to this Kim Holman design and gave her name to the class. Built for Claude Whisstock, the owner of the boat yard, she was therefore the ‘boss’s boat’ and would have been built with a little extra care and attention. Owned by Whisstock for 25 years, she then had another long ownership before being given a major refit between 1998 and 2004.
Bought by the previous owners in 2006 and ...

Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this Arthur Ransomes Fred Shepherd Yacht
SELINA KING is a Fred Shepherd designed Bermudan cutter built by Harry King & Sons in 1938 for the author Arthur Ransome. She was the largest boat commissioned by Ransome.
Passing through various owners, she was bought by a gentleman from Bermuda in 1972 who set out to sail her home and was caught in a nasty north Atlantic storm. Rescued by the navy, she eventually made it to Bermuda where she remained for some time before being sold again and cruising to the Caribbean and the States. Found aband...

Built for the importer of Fiat cars in Sweden, she was designed as a spacious and capable cruising boat for northern waters.

Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this Buchanan Saxon Class Sloop
The Saxon Class was designed by Alan Buchanan as a development of his very successful Vashti as a smaller more manageable yacht but with many of the same attributes.
This boat was built by RJ Priors and Son of Burnham in 1962 to Lloyds 100A1 and was kept in class until quite recently.
The dimensions and volume of the Saxon make her an ideal size for many owners, easily single handed, but with 5 berths and space for a good size crew when racing, she is large enough to take some nasty weather if required without ...

Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this Laurent Giles Vertue V2
Laurent Giles Vertue No.2 built by E.F. Elkins of Christchurch in 1937.
This was the second Vertue ever launched after Andrillot, built by the well known Elkins yard who became prolific builders of Vertue yachts.
These early examples of the Vertue differ to the later boats that were more common and only 8 examples were launched. They have a slightly lower freeboard, more exaggerated sheer line and a lower coachroof with no doghouse. They are widely regarded as prettier boats than the later sisters, but have le...

Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this 1967 BUCHANAN VASHTI MK3 – QUEEN CLASS 38
PHRYNE OF BURNHAM is an example of one of the first GRP yachts moulded by Tylers of Tonbridge in Kent and fitted out by Priors of Burnham-on-Crouch. She is rather special and quite a rare boat, believed to be one of only five examples of the Mark 3 Buchanan Vashti (marketed as the ‘Queen Class 38’) still in commission. The Vashti was one of the great Alan Buchanans most notable and successful designs, originally built in wood and raced extensively in the 1960’s with great success. Her class...
