Talon No1 is a modern take on a traditional boat; built as a liveaboard to the first and current owners it is both aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional.
The shell is a 62ft Barry Hawkins; described as a “Northwich” style narrowboat by Barry Hawkins Talon No1 has a tug front deck with a large storage hatch. It is a very robust looking, yet pretty boat.
The interior is predominantly hardwood and either Oak or Ash. Carefully sculpted and fitted very precisely, so much so that now over 17 years later the longitudinal and diagonal T& G looks as though it has never moved. The cabinetry is also precise and articulate and again all of the doors and cabinets fit just as they should.
The layout is that of living area, galley, bedroom, bathroom, engine room and boatmans cabin. The boatmans cabin created at Barry Hawkins is of solid Oak framing and nicely proportioned.
The engine is… powerful Beta Marine and at 75Hp more than ample for this 62ft boat whatever the conditions.
The boat was originally equipped to live aboard; for this reason it has a washing machine easily accessible in the galley and lots of storage in cabinets, cupboards and beneath the foredeck. The boat is otherwise uncomplicated, providing comfortable spaces and practical services without high-tech gadgets now commonly found in most boats.
Having been a liveaboard for many years Talon No1 is of course worn, but far from worn out and with some care and attention will be a truly fantastic boat.
Priced accordingly in consideration of the boats current appearance…. A boat that should be snapped up!
