This was a labour of love undertaken by the man shown in the video. He built the shell from strips of cedar but did not have the time and space to finish it, so passed it to me. Although a (retired) professional furniture maker I had never done anything like this before, so the finish (fibreglass, epoxy resin and varnish) is not perfect, but I'm pleased with the construction. The fore and aft storage areas could be used for buoyancy bags or to keep belongings dry. It's easy to paddle, and light enough to carry on your shoulders using the yoke.
