Ohlson 38 Project yacht.
1976 Winner of Royal Western / Observer Singlehanded Transatlantic Race
Built in 1974 byTylers of Maidstone.
Ohlson 38’s have an excellent reputation as blue water boats and many are still raced and cruised internationally.
Mast, boom, standing rigging and running gear stored locally or on board.
Sails stored on board believed usable .
Some of the photos are historical- be aware!
Robertsons Golly was undergoing a refit and repair by a charity but this was abandoned due to Covid restrictions and personal circumstances.
I purchased her with the intention of completing the project and dreams of a lengthy retirement cruise. My circumstances have now changed and I can no longer give her the time required.
The good bits.
Her history obviously makes her interesting, with many complimentary comments while aboard.
Good head room throughout
Wood burning Stove
Quality Joinery
A fine blue water cruiser when completed
Active Owners forum
New cables runs throughout
Possible live aboard while completing the project
The not so good bits.
The engine was removed prior to my purchase (I intended to install a low hours Beta 38, available separately by negotiation)
New electronics required
New standing rigging required
Mast and boom currently stored.
New sea toilet required.
Currently stored on the hard Hayling Island
